Synopsis Of My Documentary, "One Way Out"

Okay, here is the 250-word synopsis I wrote for my documentary. I set up an email account for the film, so that you can all contact me with any other questions you might have. Write me at onewayoutfilm@gmail.com to do so. I will be posting lots more information over the next few days, so keep checking back! In the meantime, here is my synopsis:

"One Way Out" is an 18-minute documentary short by Morgan Kathleen Giles and Erin Sarsfield. This short began as an exploration of the events surrounding the 2003 disappearance of Adrian “Art” Ewald. The filmmakers interviewed his wife and that interview led to a shift in direction for the piece. This new shift in direction caused the filmmakers to rework the latter part of the short into a study of depression and how depression related to Mr. Ewald and the reasons for his disappearance. In addition, Detective Sergeant Glenn Gustafson, who was the primary investigative officer on Mr. Ewald’s case, is interviewed and he talks about how missing persons cases are handled, more specifically, how Mr. Ewald’s case was handled. Detective Gustafson was granted full permission by Mr. Ewald’s wife, Christine, to speak of his initial thoughts on what had happened to Mr. Ewald when he disappeared. Finally, Professor Peter Guiterrez is interviewed to give the short its professional viewpoint on depression.
