Cool Article About LA Filmmaker Michael Dean

Hi all!

Last December I filmed an interview with my father (James Giles) for Michael Dean. LA-based, Michael Dean, is currently making a documentary about the author Hubert Selby, Jr. His film will be out this year. Mr. Dean has a very entertaining mailing list that I subscribe to. In the lastest edition, he posted a link to a story his hometown newspaper had run about him. I wanted to send a shout out and congratulations to him for that. So, congratulations Michael! You're a great person to film for and I wish you nothing but the best!

Also, please check out Squitten Pix. This is Mr. Dean's company.

Lenny & the Law & Order Spinoff

I just came across this news article about how the death of Jerry Orbach (aka: Lenny Briscoe) will be handled on the spinoff series Law & Order: Trial By Jury. It sounds like I'm going to have to break out the Kleenex for this one. I still tear up a little thinking about this loss. Orbach was great!

Citizen Swan

At the risk of being beaten by Dr. Oak, I am going out tonight. It seems that a bunch of us COMS majors are going to Eduardo's tonight to hang with the faculty (and each other). Now, I say that about Dr. Oak because I spent the entire last week sleeping due to some virus worthy of the name Black Plague. Anyway, I must go tonight and I think we all know why. Faculty will be there and that could mean . . .

SWAN!!!!

. . . It seems that Swan has been keeping hidden--in his secret Watson Hall lair--this semester because I have yet to see him. Personally, I think this can only mean one thing . . . more treachery!!! I feel I must try to observe him to save us all! It's 7:45 . . . I leave in an hour. Wish me luck!

EDITOR'S NOTE: For those just stumbling upon my merry blog, the Swan I refer to is a former media writing teacher of mine. My only *real* complaint about him is that he doesn't teach more COMS courses because I've taken all of them I can. Swan rules!

2nd EDITOR'S NOTE: And, I will be taping "24," but not to see if the kid lives. I'm sorry, I love my parents, but if my mom offed my boyfriend (on "24" it was a girlfriend) I'd not be all that opt to risk my life for her terroristic cause. Call me picky, but I'm thinking the boy has some mother 'issues.' ;)

Tony's Back!!!

Okay, first of all, if your boyfriend's mom REALLY doesn't like you . . . DON'T drink and/or eat anything she offers you! Yes, I am talking about 24. Now, I was stunned by that, but nothing compares to last night! Carlos Bernard (aka: Tony Almeida) returned to the series last night! When this season began, my first thought was "they got rid of everyone but Chloe?!?!" I know she's got her own cult following, but she's just never done it for me. I couldn't believe they kept her character over Tony's. I am happy to take back every nasty thought I've had towards the writers, now. :) It'll be interesting to see what they do, but as long as Tony's back it's all good.
